Ultrasound technician / sonographer wage and school?

I am thinking about going back to school after I have my first child for an ultrasound technician. I know there’s certificate and associates and bachelors degree available but since I’ll be a mommy and taking these online for tge most part would like to probably stick to the certificate or associates.
Any info on what the benefits are of this job and negatives and difference of certificate and associates.
Also what would be the starting wage for a non experienced tech out of school per hour fir certificate and associate
I live in Pennsylvania about hour outside Pittsburgh more rural setting
Also wage for experienced . This is a big decision just trying to gather opinions and resources from multiple areas. Thank you!!!
Any info thank you!!!

The correct term is Sonographer, or Ultrasound Technologist so make sure you are searching these terms for legit information.

The type of degree is less important than going through a properly accredited program. Certificates are only open to people with prior degrees in a related field. Associate’s is the most common. These CANNOT be done online! You may be able to complete some of the pre-requisites online, but once you get into the program you will be in the classroom, the ultrasound lab, and at clinical. http://www.caahep.org/Find-An-Accredited-Program/

Pay varies based on registration status, experience, and location. But average salary for Sonographers is $63k/yr.

Side note – these programs are notoriously competitive and intense so make sure you are prepared to give it your full attention.
