I start school next month for becoming a xray/radiology technician and i wanted to know some more information about it.

I really want to know how much they make. i know it varies on where u live and so forth but if you are an xray technician or know somebody who is how much do they make an hour?

also what are the dutys on the job and what all will i be learning in school?

and whats the WORST part about this job?

Do radiation therapists make much more than x-ray technicians?

i know theyre called radiologic technologists but umm anyways im about to earn my AA degree in radiology. I heard you can get a 12 month certification from their to become a radiation therapists? is it really worth going another 12 months of school? tha reason is because i live in Long beach ca with my parents and the only school offering this 12 month certification is city of hope school in duarte which is like 40 miles away. What should i do? i dont want to drive 40 miles everyday or move and have to pay rent unless its really worth it. of course when i get married ill move out but not yet. do you think an x-ray tech is a reasonable job with a good pay? what should i do? thanks

If I get a degree in radiology tech, does that mean I will be open to getting jobs in all kinds of radiology positions like ultrasound, CT scanning, mammography, dental office x-rays, chest x-rays in heart clinics, or just general x-rays in a family practice?

The degree I have currently is so limited, so I’d like to start something new, but something where I have many different job opportunities out there.

I am currently interested in becoming a ultrasound technician. However, I want to know if my job opportunities will be limited by the fact that I am a male. I understand that many common ultrasound procedures are designed to work on a more private part of female body such as breast ultrasound or transvirginal ultrasound. Being a male sonographer, am I allow to work those procedures? I guess my question is, will it be hard for a male sonographer to find a job?
