Career Radiologic Technologist.?

Okay here’s my little situation, I just came back from boot camp and now i’m looking to start school in the spring, but I have no clue as to where to start.I heard about Radiology and a career in Radiologic Technology but the same as school, I have no clue as to where to start, even before going to my local community colleges and telling them about my path to that career?
Should I get a AA degree in radiology?radiologic technician??? and go to a hospital for a license or what?
Here are my local Community Colleges
Miracosta Community College-Oceanside
Palomar Community College- San Marcos-California.

I will be starting school to become a Radiology Technician beginning January 22nd ( Associate Degree Program and i was hoping some of you Radiology Techs could please shed some light on your personal experiences with becoming a rad. tech and the process of acually going through school,l and what your average days were like, and last but not least how you feel about your decision to become a radio tech. All responses would be greatly appreciated!

Question about Radiologic Technology?

I have maybe a little concern about radiologic technology. I pretty much planned out my major and what I’m going to do. This year I am going to a 2 year junior college for radiologic technology and then transferring to CSULB to finish for a BS in radiologic technology (I believe? please correct me if I’m wrong) now my question is once I have completed the CSULB and I wish to have other licenses in a different area of radiologic technology such as MRI or CT, how long would it take in order to get those licenses? I am graduated from Highschool, I know that I can get a 2 year degree in Radiology but is it really worth it? If I can just get a certificate in Radiographic Technology then that would be great. But how do I do that… I know I can do Hospital Certification but how do you know if the hospital near you offers that? If they don’t offer that then how do I get my certification?

What should I do to become a Radiologic Technologist?

Hi, I just graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics (overall GPA of 3.76, physics GPA of 3.90) and I have decided that I want to become a rad tech. I am especially interested in CT and MRI. From what I gather the job outlook is good and the pay is good. I am just amazed by these machines.

I have heard from someone in the field that I do not need an additional degree in Radiologic Technology, since I already have a bachelor’s degree, I should just get certified through a hospital certification program. Do you think I would be able to get a job if I did that?

I have also heard of a Master’s degree in radiological physics at Wayne State University, but I’m not sure what the job prospects would be like for that.

I am interested in learning more about this field. I am told it will be in demand in the future due to all the baby boomers. Can anyone pass along any helpful info? I am in living in Southeastern Michigan (Detroit Metro area).

If your a Radiologic Technologist can you please answer a few questions? Once you graduate from an accredited program and your certified as a Radiologic Technologist you can only do xrays of the extremities? How long does it take for you to specialize in CT, MRI, Mammography etc.? Do you have to be a Registered RT? If so what is the process?
