My second attempt at an Urban/Spoken Word type of poem:

The War

You’re my archenemy, my opposite combatant.
Constantly fighting, throwing around sharp accents.
Coincidentally our battles always tend to coincide with my own personal divides.
It’s the spark of rebellion, my own way of coming to terms with a lack of self expression.
Sometimes you’d almost think I was considering secession, from this house, but I’m no Federalist at the Hartford Convention.

Hey, maybe I am learning something when I enter the schooling dimension…
Now let’s get back to the topic that I’m unwillingly choosing to mention.

If we were anything else, we would have been reduced to blows long ago.
But we’re not, so there’s no use wasting time on the whats, the ifs, the coulds, the woulds, the alternate possibilities that our hostilities would never ever bring about even with our disability to end these bouts with responsibility.
I never would’ve guessed that our inabilities would linger on the edge of human inconceivability.

The oceans have be set ablaze by the intrinsically extreme nature of our irate debates.
The beaches are contaminated with the pollutants of our fueled phrases.
The foliage has been demolished by the impact craters of our explosive elocution.
The world is becoming a ghost town as it gets torn down by our inability to truly confound – each other.
To imagine it just think of a pro-life Christian with their eyes taped to an aborted ultrasound.

When the amplitude of our attitudes gets to be too high, my aptitude for vocabulary becomes similar to that of Tom and Jerry.
My mind shuts down, suddenly descending into the darkness of silence.
Apparently this verbal violence cannot be conquered by my immediate responses.
So I have to resort to using my poetic license.

Still, the most amazing thing is our ability to put everything that was said to bed.
Just a few hours later and it’s as if the battleground of terms had never seen a tread.
This ongoing war that we share, will never be forgotten because we both care.
@Gymnast
Conformed structure is overrated, and so is even trying to be remotely politically correct

@Janna
Thanks! I’m glad I could get you to laugh

Well today I had to go in for an observation in a doc. office for a MA job and it was between me and this other girl who in the end decided on hiring her . Well we both dont have degrees.. it was just general work for a doctor. But I just feel horrible because they picked her over me. I am going to school for radiology and they did x-rays on ppl’s feet and stuff. The other girl was a pre-med student and had had a little experience “watching” surgeries in high school in a program they had. I just dont think that it was really fair. They told me that they hired her because she had more medical experience than me. I wore scrubs and everything, I was early to get there and the other girl was late. I just dont understand. Do you REALLY think that things happen for a reason and that maybe that job really wasn’t for me and wouldn’t have worked out?
