I have an interview tomorrow for a job at Northwestern University…?

the problem is that I am relatively new to the field and they asked me about my salary request…
They explained to me that the job is a Research Technician/Clinical Coordinator job. I am not required to do essays, but in the lab I will have to supervise the shipping of the MRI stuff and other samples.
The job is with the Endocrinology Division and I have no idea what salary to ask!?!
I am not an RN, I was a doctor in Europe…and
actually at the interview yesterday they told me that I will have to do a few essays too.
From what I could see they are afraid to make an offer and told me that I should know this is not a highly paid salary…
What is a highly paid salary in Chicago in this field??
I have no idea!

Is there a proper way to research a job offers salary prior to taking a job or interview?

I am currently in school for radiology and I like to go to the job websites (hotjobs, monster etc) and read over what the employers are looking for. Nine times out of ten the employer does not list the salary for the job posting. Is there a kosher way to research the salary and health care package before even taking the interview? Is it really ok to walk in the the business ask if your hiring, ask how much they are paying per a hour?

I’ve been considering becoming a Radiologist and I know how to become one i.e. pre-med, med, residency. I have a few questions, that I know I can find online but would rather hear from an actual Radiologist than a website!

1. Why did you choose to become a radiologist?

2. What did you major in your first 4 years of college?

3. What classes did you take in college/med. school?

4. What was residency like? How many years?

5. What EXACTLY does a radiologist do? Morning – go home?

6. How much is the salary? If you’d rather not say yours can you tell me the general salary.

7. I’m a high school senior and I’m thinking about majoring in Radiation Therapy, Pre-Med. Then go to Med. School, and the residency. What do you think?

8. Pros/Cons?
