I need help in my college application?

I applied at Houston Community College.
I already submitted my application and received an e-mail saying they have accepted it.
But I remember when I was filling out the application I put Performing and Visual Arts…thinking Photography fell into that category.
But it turns out it doesn’t.
And I was wondering if I could change my Program/Cluster thingy..because I accidentally put Preforming and Visual Arts.
Like, I really don’t want to get a certificate in Photography anymore….I want to major in Radiology.

I just turned 17 and was home-schooled and I know nothing about applying in colleges! I really need help.

This is what the e-mail said (My questions are in all caps) :

Dear Student:

We have received and accepted your application for admission to Houston Community College that you submitted via the applytexas.org website for the (Summer and Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semesters).

As part of the process, you have selected a Program/Cluster, but you will also need to declare a specific major plan for your educational objective. Financial Aid students must complete this step before they can receive their award. (WHAT AWARD ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?) Other students (WHAT DO THEY MEAN BY OTHER STUDENTS? :/) are encouraged to use this link, http://imc02.hccs.edu/ccp/career-clusters.htm, to complete the Educational and Decision-Making Tool before the end of their first semester. You can print the final page and take to a campus to meet personally with a HCC counselor/advisor at any of the HCC centers to discuss your educational objectives, or email the form to online.ss@hccs.edu.
International students will need to go to the International Student Office at 3100 Main to complete their I-20 certification before proceeding.

To complete the admissions process, you will need to do the following:
Assessment, if applicable
• Send official transcripts for previous college work (transfer & transient students) (I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO ANY COLLEGE)
• Submit TSI test scores or Take TSI test
• Submit ACT, SAT or TAKS scores
Advising
• Meet with HCC counselor/advisor on campus or email on-line advisors at online.ss@hccs.edu to determine and enter pre-requisite groups
Orientation
• Attend a college orientation session if you have less than 15 hours
(Check with the college you will attend for times and locations)
Communication
• Record your HCC student ID number for your records. This number will be used for enrollment, accessing your grades, and all future enrollment services
• You will receive a HCC student email account after you make payment for your classes. HCC will use this email address for all official communication

Oh and I have this envelope the my school gave me to give to the college that I can’t open. I know I have to send them but I wanted to know if I have to put my application Id number on the envelope..or if I can take the envelope to them personally?

Oh and is it to late to apply for Financial Aid?

Someone please help me…I have no clue on what to do. Dx

I don’t think college is for me?

I am more interested in picking up a trade and working on a certification of some sort. I would like to work with children some how or helping children or in the medical field as a ultrasound tech, pediatrician, or pharmacy technician. Are their any jobs out their that pay atleast 28,000-35,000 a year like this?

Will picking up a trade be less beneficial or won’t count as good enough?

What BA degree should I pursue to be an Ultrasound Technician? & What type of college?

I’ve done a lot of research but still wanted to know if anyone has gone through this before. For a BA degree going into an Ultrasound Technician, what do I go into? (Medical Tech? Radiology?) AND what type of college for that BA degree? I know a lot of vocational schools like Kaplan and Heald offer it, but what about Universities or state colleges? Which one is better?

College planning, which sounds like the best option to you?

I’m graduating pretty soon and I want to know if my plans are legit.. I have 3 main ideas of what I want to do, but I need your opinion. I’m graduating with honors at 17, and I PLAN on getting out of Texas.

Plan 1: Stay close to home, study at Baylor Medical college and get my nursing license or my degree in radiology. For that plan I’ll be either a X-ray technician or a general RN and work at one of the local hospitals or somewhere in Plano.
Plan 2: Get my teaching degree at whatever college I choose. I’ve been offered scholarships for three schools, USC, U of Michigan and then at U of Austin here in Texas. I’ve been offered tours of Harvard, which leads to plan 3.
Plan 3: Take up the offer on Harvard and study at the medical center there for cancer research and/or become a doctor.
Plan 4: New York. Go to NYU and get my teaching degree or whatever I decide to do. I havent yet decided since I have alot of options..
Plan 5: Skip college and travel Europe.
Plan 6: Go to work at my moms Real Estate company in AR. She makes great money and so does my dad, so money for all these plans isn’t an issue.

Any of these sound good?

But which one do YOU think sounds the best? Or sounds the most.. Productive.

How frequently must each license be renewed?

What is the name of the government agency that monitors practitioner licenses

What are the continuing education requirements (CEUs) for each profession?

if anyone can help or point me to a web site that would help me out so much. ty so much

This semester Im taking the last of my courses besides the radiology courses at my community college. There is a two year waiting list to be able to get into the program. Im finishing up with A & P and all my other courses that were required english math. etc….Is it worth waiting two more years. Im already 24. I was thinking about Sanford Brown or something they have a 20 month program for Radiology..from what I understand no wait list…Is Sanford Brown a real college or is it some crap school that wont mean anything when I graduate. I want to be done with school but i also dont want to go to a school that will somehow hold me back from getting licensed when I do graduate…has anyone went to sanford brown? is it good or should I just stick to my community college???

Online College Courses….?

I am looking to fulfill required credits to start a certification in Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound. I will need to complete college level physics, algebra and biology. Possibly English if my credits for that won’t ‘roll over’ since it was from about 13 years ago.

Has anyone taken these online college classes and been able to use them to register for a certification class? Also, is financial aid available for online classes?
