I am looking to start a new career as a X-Ray technician, where do I start. Can I start online?

I live in San Diego County, 41 years old, stay home dad with three kids, I do part time Ebay for some extra income, and my wife has a great job. My youngest will be in kindergarten this year, And I will be looking into getting training for a new path in life. I am hearing that the medical field is a good direction to move towards, specifically radiology, X Ray Tech maybe?
Where do I start???

Can anyone tell me anything about a career as a radiologist technologsit?

Ever since I graduated high school in May of last year, I’ve had a hard time deciding what career path I want to take! But lately I have developed an interest in radiology. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the what being a radiology technologist entails, what is the anual salary starting out? Is this job in high demand?! Any information is helpful.

Okay here’s my little situation, I just came back from boot camp and now i’m looking to start school in the spring, but I have no clue as to where to start.I heard about Radiology and a career in Radiologic Technology but the same as school, I have no clue as to where to start, even before going to my local community colleges and telling them about my path to that career?
Should I get a AA degree in radiology?radiologic technician??? and go to a hospital for a license or what?
Here are my local Community Colleges
Miracosta Community College-Oceanside
Palomar Community College- San Marcos-California.

2. how many years is it
3. what is the starting salary for a RT
4. what are the career prospects once you complete training in particular is it easy to find jobs in this field for beginners with no experience

well im wondering what are those ladies called the ones that do the ultrasounds.
someone said they’re “ultrasound technicians”
and said you can find some colleges where it can take less then 2 years to study.
i live in Nashville,TN so im not trying to move to far.

some colleges i’ve found are, ITT Tech Institute, Remington?, MedVance?

whats the difference between Radiologic Technology and Medical Basic X-Ray Technician ??

i cant find a college in Nashville that just focuses on “ultrasound tech”; they’re all radiology ?

(im sorry i may sound very confused because i am,

also one more question, it says that all graduates are prepared to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Certification exam..
has anybody took that?? and if so, is it hard?

are there any accredited programs in nashville for radiology ?
and is it hard to find a job in this field?

-i found that Vanderbilt Univ. offers the program, but thats a very challenging university.
it doesn’t say the ACT min to get accepted?
does anybody know? and if i try to attend that school, can i just go for 2 years?
what classes do i have to take, etc?

I really want to go into the medical field when i grow up and im looking at going into radiology. I dont want to be a radiologist u have to go to school way to long for that. But i was thinking about being a rad tech. What is best a 2 or 4 year degree? Do u make more with a 4 year degree?? What is the average salary for a Rad Tech? I know Rad Techs mainly take X-Rays but are they the same people that make the MRI’s and CT scans??

I’m thinking of choosing a school, that says it has accreditation, and I can’t tell if it does after searching it. I found info but the issue is what will an employer think of a degree from this school. Stevens Henegar College is where I’m thinking of getting Respiratory therapy degree at 20 months at it looks like ,000 bachelors degree.

The degree I want to choose for my career is Radiology Therapy, and maybe go into radiology If I’m smart enough and such. Not sure but know want Radiology Therapy with other certifications. It would cost ,000 for a bachelors degree, from Weber State University

Any advice of this idea, my fear is that I will end up hindering my further advancement. I need a higher paying job that’s why I’ve considered this route, would it be a bad idea to prusue respiratory therapy with the choice of my career?
