If I go to school as a radiographer can I switch and get a job as a sonographer even without going to school for another two years?

Once you are in the imaging department, you might have a chance of being employed by a facility who will cross train you. You will still need to take the licensing examination (RDMS) eventually, and it can be hard to pass without attending a formal program.
There are NON-accredited programs out there, which help you with the book work end of learning ultrasound, but leave you to find the clinical training. Many of these are on line courses or at least long distance programs. If you are already in an imaging facility, and that facility is willing to let you get your one year hands on experience, it would qualify you to take the RDMS licensing exam. A person who is not already affiliated with an imaging facility would have a near zero chance of being trained in this fashion.
You can cruise around the RDMS website to get information on what they require before you are allowed to take their registry.http://www.ardms.org/default.asp?Content…
