Say a person has many of the symptoms of MS – numbness/heaviness of the limbs, wakes up with half her face numb, experiences days of feeling those “electrical current” type feelings that you feel when your arm or leg falls asleep, itchiness, low energy, headaches and the like. This person went to a cardiologist because initially they thought it was a vascular problem, but the cardiologist said it’s most likely MS. This person then had a nerve test – which came back “normal”. This person then went to a neurologist who said it doesn’t seem to be MS at all, but doesn’t know what it is.

When this person researched her symptoms online, all indicators point to MS. She will have an MRI, but is waiting on the insurance pre-certification. If it is NOT MS, what else might it be?

Has anyone else ever had any of the symptoms of MS, but then “passed” the nerve test? Did it turn out to be something else? If so what?

Signed – Desperate for answers or clues
I did ask this earlier – at around 5 a.m. – I am re-asking to see if I can get any more answers.

i am 21 years old and am an active automotive technician.

ive been repairing and diagnosing vehicles since i was about 14.

unfortuanetly i think i might have done something to my back

it started as a stiffness and now has progressed to constant pain and swelling in my back. i am still working because i love what i do and leaving my job or doing something else really isnt an option for me as i have taken all my certifications and come way too far in this field.

its hard to describe the pain or the exact location. i know for a fact its not a muscle because i can feel it in my spine. im constantly trying to crack my back or stretch it to get any kind of relief but it is only temporary or makes it worse… its not exactly lower back. but its not in the middle either. just alittle lower than the middle of my back.

my only problem is that i do not currently have health insurance. so an mri is kinda out of the question atleast for about 3 more months until my health insurance is back.

unfortuanetly this pain is awful and is constantly making my days harder. it seems to be getting worse with time.

sleep is a constant struggle as i wake up many times a night to either get up and stretch or to change positions.

the pain first started about a year or so ago. doctor originally thought it was a muscle. gave me every muscle relaxer he could think of. physical therapy also and none of it helped.

the only thing that helped my pain was either hydrocodone or oxycodone. i had a bottle of 15 hydrocodone 5mg/500′s from an e.r. visit and i was taking halves and it lasted me almost a month. didnt exactly take the pain away but helped atleast for a couple hours.

i was gonna goto my doctor and pay myself. i want to try to explain to him that i need something for pain. just until i get health insurance back and i can get an mri and get it taken care of for real, not just covered up by pills.

my only fear is, is that im only 21 yrs old and i dont know if my doctor will be comfortable with prescribing me hydrocodone or oxycodone due to fear of abuse or addiction, due to all the people taking advantage of their doctors or faking or whatever pathetic things people do for drugs now.

i have no history of drug or alchohol dependance and ive had the same family doctor since i was 10 yrs old. does anybody have any suggestions for me?

work and sleep are the worst times for me. its almost unbearable at times. it would be a godsend to have something to control my pain. atleast temporarily till i can get this problem fixed.

I am especially interested in CT and MRI. From what I gather the job outlook is good and the pay is good. I am just amazed by these machines.

I have heard from someone in the field that I do not need an additional degree in Radiologic Technology, since I already have a bachelor’s degree, I should just get certified through a hospital certification program. Do you think I would be able to get a job if I did that?

I have also heard of a Master’s degree in radiological physics at Wayne State University, but I’m not sure what the job prospects would be like for that.

Hello I hope you can help me if you are reading this. I got a tuition waiver from my state Unemployment office so that I can go to school for any one-year or less program that gives a certification at the end. I cant go for a degree or any thing like that, this is only for programs that focuses specifically on one subject and getting a person certified in that subject such as MRI Technician, Secretary, etc. So please do not suggest carreers that you need a degree, i wont be getting a degree only a certification, It is similar to if you go to a trade school for automotive tech, etc only the unemployment will not cover a trade school.

My problem is I have a criminal felony record and all my 3 convictions was in the past 18 months, the most recent one was only 4 mos ago so I cant say “it was as long time ago I am a differnet person now.” And it makes a employer paranoid of hiring me. I hope that if I go to school and get a education that it will give me a better chance at getting work.

I have no idea the class that I should take with my tuition voucher, though. I need to pick a career that would not care if I got a record or not. If i go for the wrong thing It will be pointless becuz I will get the certificate and still not be able to work becuz the employer wont hire me b/c my record. I need to find a list of some good careers for felons to work in, where background checks is uncommon, or they dont consider it a big deal if you are a felon. I know that the construction industry and restaurant industry is good for this but there is not 1 year certificate programs offered by the school that I can go to. I know that I am banned from the medical field, but I dont know the other type of jobs that refuse people with records. If you could suggest to me any career field you know of that is good for Felons and dont care about criminal background please make some suggestions to me.

Also if you have any ideas of who i could contact to ask this to please reply. I called a college counselor and they did not really know a good field for me to enter. Even if you dont know a good career for a felon , if you do know a good person or orginazation I could talk to, to find out , that would also be helpful too. Thank you in advance.

I am 28 years old, otherwise healthy, just went to the rheum. after testing positive for HLa B27, we are waiting for a pre certification from my insurance for MRI to see if and how much fusion has occurred. All of this started because of the excruciating and chronic pain I am in especially at night, well, she said she would give me something when my blood work came back to see how my liver etc. is, blood work came back fine, she gave me Arthrotec75 and Darvacet every 6 hours, that is fine for during the day when I am up moving around but at night I am in AGONY!! So I call her up and her up and tell her I was given Percocet 5mg before I went to see her and they helped me at night and I would like another Rx, she told me to go to my Primary Doctor??? So far Percocet is the only thing that helps me get through the night, I guess i am in the middle of a flare?? I need a Dr that will understand and give me what works without a problem in NJ can anyone help me???
