question about getting started in the radiology program?

I am very interested in going into the radiology program because my fiance is going to be a nurse and i wanted to get into something in the medical field and that interests me very much ever since i was in a car accident and broke my femur and had to get a rod and 2 screws put in it. Just seeing my xray of the bone broke in 2 amazed me. but had a few questions about the program. I do no not do well with blood and guts, will i have to deal with all the gorey and not so pleasant sights? or could i just limit myself to wanting to work in an orthopedic institute or something of that sort so i wouldn’t have to deal with any hospitals? and I live in ohio, does anyone know what the starting salary for a radiologist is?

If you wanna be a radiologist its a very long and hard career path. Have to go thru med school first and become a doctor, so thats 6 years in new zealand where I come from, then you have to get into radiology and learn under someone – anotehr 5 yearsish. Then you can sit in ur black box all day making tons of money and not have 2 see any blood. but nefore then u have 2 be a doctor working in a hospital and try all sorts of things. so if ur looking for an easy career, uve chosen one of the longest and hardest.

HOWEVER if you would be interested in being a technologust or radiograoher (the person that takes the xrays) its way easier. in my country it is a 3 yr course, in otehrs 4, consisting of practical and theroy. harder than nursing but much easier than being a doctor. once thats up you can start work. starting wage in aussie is about 60 grand, so thats about 70 american. but i dont know what they pay over there, it may be alot more. we make alot of money in the middle east etc also. as far as blood and guts go u have 2 see alot of it. we work in surgery, and we work with trauma. once ur training is up u could go work in private but by then ud be used 2 it. its not that bad seriously. so yeah. let me know if u want more info.
