if i get a degree in radiation therapy, could i be a radiologic technician?

I know there is a difference between the two occupations… i believe a radiation therapist applies radiation to cancer patients and etc and are paid more and radiologic technicians just do x-rays on patients. However, the cheaper school in my area has the radiation therapy program, I would rather not deal with sick people because it is too sad so i want to be an x-ray tech. Can I use this degree for either or or do I need to get my degree in radiologic technology?

In most cases to be a radiation therapist you must be a radiological technician first. Make sure you check with the school to see what the prerequisites are. And make sure the school is accredited.

You still need to go through a rad tech program, because there is a lot to learn about what we do.
