I was thinking about going to school to become an xray technician, How much do they make?

How do I find a good school in my area? Do the techs that do cat scans, MRIs, and mammographies make more money then just an xray tech??

specializing in a field will always give you an extra edge and a little more money. it all depends on the area in which you live and the cost of living. but majority of the time before you can specialize you have to complete the x-ray program. the x-ray program is extremely competitive. i would check your local local colleges to see what kind of programs they offer, not all colleges have programs. the website below should help you to locate a program.

The correct title is radiologic technologist (technician is demeaning). The more modalities you know, the more you can make. You can find salary info here: https://www.asrt.org/media/pdf/research/wss2007/wss07annualcompensation.pdf and accredited schools here (choose Radiography): https://www.arrt.org/index.html?content=http://www.arrt.org/nd/listOfSchools.ndm/listSchools&iframe=yes
