How Do The Job Opportunities For An X-ray Tech. And An Mri Technologist Compare?

If you are an x ray tech and a MRI tech, your chances of getting hired is very good esp if you are registered and has work experience on it. It is highly recommended that you learn MRI through cross training and if you want to know more about the modality, go to school for it also at least an inexpensive one. Knowing only one modality is in the past, you are better off knowing more than one. There is an increase demand of MRI techs and not only hospitals are hiring.

    Xray techs you will most likely be able to find easier.. every hospital needs many. MRI however are in demand, but not as much because many of them are not needed at a hospital, one or two at the most.
    Xray techs make great money just to let you know, The starting salary around her is $70,000.

    The answer to this question really depends on which country you are based.
    In Australia opportunities for MRI Technologists are rarer than say General Radiography or CT Radiographer positions. MRI Radiography is generally quite a popular modality and there are also relatively few MRI machines compared to General X-Ray etc.
