I’m in school for radiography (X-ray tech). No you don’t need a lot of schooling. Some schools offer 1 year certificate programs. I’m currently in a 5 semester program and I will earn an Associates in Applied Science. So it will take me about 2 years to finish. If you’re an over achiever you can get a bachelors degree in Radiography but it is not really that necessary. Radiographers usually make between $30,000 & $60,000.
Also If I’m correct the careers you mentioned don’t require med school. I mean if you are becoming a doctor and you want to specialize in one of these then yeah but otherwise you can go to a community college or a University for these type degrees.

PT programs are generally 3 year graduate programs. You do about 30 full time weeks of intership during that time. Once you graduate, you are eligible to take the exam immediately (and pay for the state license). If you pass, you can call your self a PT and work immediately Visit http://www.apta.org under the education tab for info and schools.
OT is a 2 year graduate program. There is a lot of overlap between the 2. http://www.aota.org
Sports med is a degree not an occupation. Not able to really get a job with it.
x ray tech is an AAS degree (2 years)
Medical school is for Doctors. There are many in the north east.
I suggest you shadow these professions. Since most are grad program, your undergrad degree the first year or so is the same so you have a little time

I am an Athletic Training major (sports medicine). Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. Athletic training is not the same as personal training and they work with more than just athletes. An athletic training degree is a 4 year degree. When you graduate you sit for a certification exam.
Radiation therapy is the science of using radiation to treat cancer. Radiation therapy is usually an associates degree (2 years).
Occupational therapy deals with health promotion. However, an occupational therapist can also work with stroke patients to help them re-learn how to perform activities of daily living. It usually requires a masters degree (6 years).
Choosing a major really depends on what you want to do for your future career. If you are planning on going to medical school I would do some research on degree requirements.
