Can A Licensed Nuclear Med Tech Substitue As A Medical Assistant ?

I am certified in Nuclear Medicine technology, but there are few jobs open in Tampa, Florida. I did bp, ekg’s, phlebotomy etc. as a Nuc. med. tech. Could I use this experience as a Medical Assistant ?

It sounds like you are qualified, but you might need certain certifications specific for that position.

Perhaps. IT really depends on what the employer is willing to take & train. You are better off in a smaller practice than a larger clinic which is more likely to say no. ALthough, MA positions are also hard to come by as well in many areas. MAs also do more than what you listed, so you would need to try & find either a position that fits your skill set or someone willing to train.
