Is Diagnostic Radiography Job Market Saturated?

hi – I’m planning on embarking on a Diagnostic Radiography degree next year, but after reading a few general forums, I’m now wondering whether I will have a job at the end of it? I dont want to give up my current job for 3 years very heard work only to find im back in current job temping because there’s no work. Can anyone offer any advice?
Radiography is also one option, I am also looking at others within the Medical Field.

Why Is The X-ray At The Start Of Tv Programme Scrubs Back To Front? The Heart Is On The Wrong Side.?

I find a lot of mistakes like that on different shows. I remember an episode of Law & Order where the medical examiner is showing an x-ray of a wrist and says something about “nine metacarpal bones of the wrist” – um no, there are 8, and they are called carpals. Drives me nuts :)

Thinking Of “temping” In Radiology. And Words Of Advice. Yes, Do It. No! No Jobs?

If you are competent and technically adept, you may find that temp contract agencies can place you in some larger facilities that will enahnce your level of expertise and expand your skill set. I’ve been in Radiology for 30+ yrs and am a director in a health system. It’s a good way to experience a varied environment and get the right “fit” for you. Make a list of the requirements you seek in a job and be sure to ask before you commit. It is a great life for some techs and they love it. Good techs are needed everywhere.

What Would Be Better To Pursue A Career Sonography Or Radiology?

I am a little bit confused, I want very badly to start back to college within the next year but the school advisor suggests that I have an idea of what career path I’d like to pursue. I have always been interested in both Radiology and Diagnostic Sonography. The community college I am going to attend has degrees for both. I have talked to several x ray technicians at the hospital and both have said its best to get a degree in Radiology before getting a degree in Diagnostic Sonography. A couple are now enrolled in the Sonography program. I really am leaning toward Sonography but the degree is new to the school just this year and I’m afraid it may not be accredited and that I would not be able to find a job after graduation. Is there a demand for both careers at the moment? Every website I’ve come across says there is but I just want to make sure I’m not getting myself into something that’s not so great a choice. Thank you for reading this, and for those who answer thank you in advance, your advice and opinions matter greatly to me!

Which Is A Better Career Choice In Terms Of Mobility, And Future Job Prospects? Sonography Or Radiology?

I was looking into Radiologic Technology and Diagnostic Medical Sonography for career choices. It looks like Sonography pays better, but they both have various areas of specialization. Are they basically the same or does either exceed the other in marketability, job prospects, mobility, etc…
